STAR Story: Overcoming Challenges with Persistence
Situation: During my time at the Nike Well Collective, I was tasked with getting new customers to sign up for memberships.
Task: The goal was to get a 2% signup rate based on our traffic for the week.
Action: I took initiative by having meaningful conversation with customers in order to ascertain what is important to them. Once I learned this I was able to tailor my approach to getting them to sign up for an account.
Result: As a result, I successfully was able to get 5 people to sign up within one week while working part-time, which not only improved our signup rate but also gave me valuable experience in consumer needs analysis.
This experience taught me the importance of two-way conversation and active listening, which I bring into every project I take on today.
